i'm researching a v8 rwd toy, and i think i found today a bolt in rear end based on the focus rear end, irs from a 2002 austrailian ford falcon, looks to me to bolt up in the same holes, or very close, and would be better and grafting on a sierra irs or mustang solid axle.
2003 Mustang Cobra IRS - dirt cheap in the states if you can arrange shipping and just need four bolts to fit.
to fit the cobra irs in a focus is a lot of work, there is a silver supercharged 4.6 cobra engined focus built by ATI, that has all cobra running gear and you can see they have cut the chassis rails to get it in.
there already a company in states that sells the kit to rwd a mk1 focus
i will be starting another focos soon
that will be the kugel komponents kit, not a bad kit, went over to california in 2008ish and drove their red demo focus, went well, couldn't give it to much i had the owners daughter with me,
not all the parts from the kit are needed, front end bits are good, but rear end can be done easier and simpler like the focus rs8 ford built. but if the falcon subframe bolts in like it looks like it may well do, then it makes a rear drive focus a much easier built all round.
anyone on here got a 2002> falcon we can get some measurments off or maybe pics on a ramp from underneath.
