we are in one of the worst depressions for decades, petrol and car running costs are at an all time high, so running a performance car isnt going to be a priority for most people.

had that rs500 been mint and standard then it would get snapped up in seconds as there is still more demand for very rare cars than supply and still enough rich folk to buy them.

Not very standard reading his spec. Has had a full respray (why if it's well looked after) hasn't got all the mot's either (why when he's had it so long) also rs500 have grills in the front not fogs it's also got loads more miles on that you expect to see on a car or this age and..what word can I use... Specialness lol. Just doesn't do it for me like. there'll be history with this guaranteed, correct me if iam wrong but people looking to spend the amount of money an rs500 costs expect a hell of a lot more in the way of proof and history about the car etc iam sure I would. I thought about saving for one a while back but it's a lot of money to spend if I was going to do it it would need to be a1 condition.

Obviously don't know or follow sierra Cosworths very much probably twice as many miles as most 500s which in the eyes of the cosworth are special.

Guy bought the car when it was 3 years old and has only some of the mot's na no way like if you buy an rs 500 youd keep everything and if you'd looked after it it certainly wouldn't need painted.

Fair enough, you obviously believe they should be kept in a garage. This guy obviously bought his to use.

It's not exactly hard to understand why he could have lost an mot. People lose things all the time, especially over 20 years.
As for the paint, it's done 83000 miles so it's obviously going to get the odd chip/scratch here and there. I'd bet 90% of RS's have had a bit of paint in their lives. Even some that are claimed haven't.

At the end of the day the guy has been honest and put it up for a fair price.

Hi guys.
How are you doing? Yellow sierra may remember me.lol
Its a question for all of you but may hold more sentimental value him....
My new (his old) zetec 1.8 has a big immmobiliser problem.
When you turn the key to the ignition on position, the immobiliser light on the dash goes crazy and starts flashing constantly. Then when you try and turn the car over you get no action at all....
Me and a (good) mechanic friend of mine fitted a starter motor to it and bridged the terminals and the engine cranked fine, as it needed a new one anyway, so its not that... Please any suggestions, not a big ford person as yet.

sorry for interrupting just seemed like someone already here may know. The cossie I'm sure will sell. Not like its a daily runabout for most people and, yeah I agree, times are a bit tight for most.

Don't be silly! I would say 99% of cosworths have had some paint in their life!

Things are hard justnow for most people and as 90% of cosworths will be used as a second car/toy it is a very small market.
Saying that ive sold two escort cosworths in the last 2 months so cars will sell if there the right spec and right price.

Looks to me like its been used which is good thing, but you have remember that haven't always been as special as they are now, a single trip to brunters would leave enough battle scares to warrent paint. Cheap for a 500 if you wanted one to tare around in

83k is a lot compared to my saph that had done 18k miles in 20 years.. even more when you compare it to my 3dr thats done 8,000 miles in 25 years or my escort thats done 217 miles in 14 years.. Your just a boring old fool tbh Rod, it may not be special to you but to someone else its a dream car..your I'm too good for a sierra gets boring after a while.. why do you even still own your cosworth if all you do is belittle other people who own them?
