Default Mortgage Boffins!

Anyone have or heard of Accord Mortgages?

Anyone got their mortgage with them?

Just curious as to their leniency with new applications?

It pi$$es me off that ALL mortgages are judged by a computer now, unless they get referred.

No human involvement what-so-ever.

Should find out today or tomorrow the results on the re-mortgage to them, just hoping we dont get a............

I bank with Abbey and made an appointment to see someone in the branch about a mortgage. They take a far more personal view of things if you're face to face and they know your finances.
That meant I could borrow more than a computer would usually allow...

Also helps if you say you'll take out their life insurance, house insurance and payment protection. Then cancel those after they've agreed the money and get them with much cheaper firms!

Its not the borrowing amount thats the issue, its the fact that when ya apply they run all ya details thru the ol'computer and it checks against Equifax and Experian to see if you have any credit problems etc......

If ya know about credit files then even tho you may apply for something and decide not to go with it, it leaves a 'foot print' on ya file and even these, although harmless can count against you.

So basically you cant shop around 'too' much for a mortgage or any other such credit as in the end it'll count against you.

I was struggling to get a mortgage because prior to then I hadn't had any other credit elsewhere, my own bank Halifax wouldn't give me one, but i got one With Northern rock, they don't use credit scores or summat and also lent me 3.5 times my income, and they're not one of these "we'll give anyone a mortgage but we'll skank your eyes out on the interest" company.

Im only telling you what my impartial financial advisor told me, put it this way, when no-one else would lend me the money, they did, I don't think they rely on experian for their decision

Yeah i relise that mate, but no one lends anyone any money if your a bad credit risk. And the peeps who dish that info are Equifax and Experian.

At least your sorted tho, thats all that matters.
