There are many hotels, all of them offer great service out there and a fair few have garages + tools where you can do basic work on your car if needed aswell should you want to

All the best places are listed here

Evo value worth Ł20k Cover just for your car only not others or track
Excess Ł3000
premium of Ł400 2 days

Pace ward offer third part insurance for policy holders
No charge as its based on a public day

ADAC do some kind of insurance but the web-site is tricky to use

Sadly no good at all, thats all exactly the sort of schemes I was talking about before, nothing new there at all.
The first one has a ceiling on payout so if you cause 50K in damage they only pay 10K towards it (and also like I said includes an inspection that I dont know if our car would pass as it has a carbon inlet plenum which isnt TUV approved), the second one doesnt pay a penny of the 50K third party damage on the same accident, and the last one is only for people insured with them.

Thanks for taking the time to look, but as I said in the first place, nothing useful there at all

Yeah I would be quite happy to pay 100 pounds a day for cover, and quite happy to have a couple of K excess.

Not too clued up but i'd say that doesn't sound too bad, if your current insurance doesn't cover you to drive the ring.
Its the third party cover that bothers me not the car, that only covers your own car not any third party.

Quite happy if we lose the car in an accident (same as if we crash it on a uk trackday), not happy if we end up with a 50K third party bill.

As mentioned several times in this thread already, there is a 10K euro ceiling on that, so if you get a 50K bill you're still paying 40K of it yourself.

Chip I agree with you... I wouldn't take that cover either... Insurance to me means... I and others are covered to the full amount if anything should go wrong..

Exactly what I want, although like I said, im quite happy with a couple of grand excess or whatever.

Basically im quite happy to go and drive the ring if its going to cost me 5K (say 3k for the car and 2k for an excess) if I crash, but not happy if its potentially able to cost me 50K if I crash.

The whole point in insurance to me, is to limit your liability, and none of those options do so.

Keith Michaels PLC on here say they will cover us for roughly the same annual cost she is paying now and will then offer ring cover for around 10% of the annual premium per day (so 70 quid a day on a 700 quid policy) with a 2K excess.
So with that, if we crash, the loss of the car will cover the excess as the cars value and the excess will basically net off, and then the full liability to third party will belong to the insurer, and that will only cost us around 210 quid for a 3 day trip.

That to me seems very fair.

mate of ours crashed his porker, slight hit with a barrier, so he continued, not did he realise that he was leaking oil. The biker behind him was riding at works yammy.

Long story short, damage to his own car, had to pay Ł14000 for the wreaked bike. Ł2000 in track and barrier charges.

Guy with us had NOTHING wrong with his car, germans decided he was leaking oil out of exhaust cause it smoked (slight bit of black from running rich on the over run on his escos, but who's ever heard of oil leaking from an exhaust as a liquid?) and he ended up having to pay to clean the track up or something, cant remember the details now as was years ago but just remember he had to pay for literally nothing, other than being english, lol

Chip, Did the 'Ring marshals not try pinning something similar on you after you did a bit of panel damage to your E30 when we had the original PF trip out there?

No, the marshals never said anything about oil, it was just on that ben lovejoy ring website it was claming i'd leaked oil when obviously I hadnt, although he then later changed it.

Total bill was still 6K euros though, which luckily my insurance picked up.

He still has a site, but I dont think he does much with it anymore and most of the old content seems to be gone now too.

So so far no hotel sorted and no insurance for this trip?

I asked what hotel was planned as i know a few there, and most need a fair notice for booking.

Sounds like a good set of dates though if the ring is fully open for 3 days, gutted I cant make it.

Might jump in with someone as passenger if we cant take our own car over.
I may be interested in going over this year mate. It's been a few year's and it'll be fun to give the pug a good send off. It's very nearly new car time

Bit early for me. Going to the states at the end of may so was looking more towards July/august for a ring trip. I have seen the white saff a few times as well. Seen it on the estate a fair bit.

I'd stay in whatever hotel most others are. Be better if everyone stuck together since we'd all be going together? I'd be interested in going if someone could point me in the right direction for track insurance as f*ck having a massive bill if something did go wrong.
