yeah second on the o rings.

and if your hands are small enough/ you have enough tolerance you could do it as it is.

long nose pliers with a 90degree bend on the nose, you can get them on ebay, about £12 posted.

With these pliers you can change the hoses/pipes under the manifold very easily.

alrite guys need your help,i replaced the vaccum pipe today what a doddle 5 minute job.
now the problem-the car doesnt want to tick over now, heres the story.

about a year ago me mam got the timing belt changed at a local garage,on driving the car away and getting to a junction the car wanted to stall, instead of taking it straight back she drove around the problem by catching it from stalling when she came to junctions.
then she had this problem of the car ticking over too high hence me replacing this vaccum hose now the car wont tick over at all.do you think this stems from the timing being out?would this cause this problem?
any help would be great.

I would suggest checking for more vac leaks and get the timing checked.

to get the car ticking over and useable ive had to put the old pipe back on and tape over part of the split which has brought the tickover to around 1000rpm.
just had a tex of me mam saying the cars never ran better

i think double checking the timing is going to be my next job, just looks a bit of a pain.

Strange the new pipe hasn't fixed it. Did you take the car a run and see what was what? My S2 ran a tooth out when I got it, was shooting flames then the valves clipped the pistons. Never noticed the timing until the rebuild!

paul when i put the new hose on the car wouldnt tickover,i put the split hose back on and the car ran but ticked over at 1500rpm,i slighty covered the split with my finger and the revs dropped hence me tapeing up the split so it will tickover normaly so my mam can use her car for work until i find the problem.
