Default Think ive broke it :(

After spending months building my Xr2 turbo im having problems with it . Long story short is that unknown to me the rad burst and I had left it running, not for long maybe a few mins at the very very most 5 then I saw the steam and turned it off (pretty much no water left) . Anyway yesterday I fitted a new rad and started it up leaving it to run for the first time in about 2 months seemed to be fine until
1) I checked the oil cap and found mayonnaise stuff
2) I realized it didn’t cutout when I removed the cap.
Any ideas what could be wrong? I’m thinking the head gasket might have failed with the heat but im unsure if this would explain the car running with the oil cap removed, hope it didn’t warp the head. Really starting to loose heart with it which is a shame because it’s great fun.

Any help appreciated

the mayonnaise is water in the oil which means the head gasket is a goner

you wont know more till the head comes off

but dont give up mate,,

So what does it usually mean again if it doesnt cut out when cap is removed?

it depends on your breather system as to whether it cuts out or not.

if the breather system isnt working that well that could explain the mayo.

when its running, see if the top hose goes really really hard, that means the head gasket is fucked.

hope this helps.
