True, but that's when water injection comes into play, and the Spec-R cooler would also compliment it as the Garrett core and Pete's end tank/pipe work design would be flowing much more air than most 'coolers on the market:

Ahh right, if the spec r design made enough difference to act's in that situation (over other intercoolers i mean) then definately a real world improvement and gain to be had then, always used to cause me frustration that act's were sky high by time you'd sat in the queue at pod and knew you were never gonna be running full power when you got to the front.....the same issues never arose on the road of course once moving

Warren Kelly didn't have any issues which act's with the new airtec cooler.

Wenny didn't have any issues with the airtec cooler. Either.

To be far I have had my car held flat out for some distance and the 70mm Airtec cooler kept the act at a couple of degree,s above ambient, going by what Lanky Steve has said with his specR cooler is it does keep the act lower and would clear heatsoak quicker.

It all comes down to cold hard cash at the end of the day, i bet cheaper parts sell 10 - 1 and thats where auto specilists do well as they have good products mear mortals can afford. We all like big expensive things and waveing our willies around but i for one cant afford it any more so have to no when to stop lol. Id love a Spec R cooler but the Air tec one will probably be just as good and that is what i will be getting

who says that hart's development costs haven't already been covered separately by a customer and are not ammortised into each unit? that's what a clever company would do, knowing that their design will immediately be copied by someone else in this day and age (if not these clients, then no doubt someone would have sent one to chine by now).

we know nothing of the situation, so there's no point speculating on it.

Should be interesting to see what the new 100 & 120mm core do - they have different designs to the end tanks which are now rounded off - not long to wait now

All i can say on the matter with my back to back tests was the Spec-R recovered quicker than the Airtec on the RR even though they made amost identical power.

Its not 20min it takes less than 20seconds for the intercooler to start getting to hot and then when you slow down for say a corner off the gas it still takes to long to cool down.

unless you have tested Airtec,s intercooler then what you are saying is pure guess work & pointless imo

Just seen the finished cooler and it looks a decent bit of kit for the money, as Ronnie said above it's been tested against the old style cooler with very good improvements so for most it's going to be a decent upgrade.

Why is drag strip different? Most people on here will want to take teir car up the quarter mile.

I'll ask warren to come on here and tell you what the differences were. And yes it was one round. The last round
