They are hardly stupid are they? They've managed to allow someone else to do the hard work before improving it and selling it cheaper. By the looks of this thread they will be raking it in and have lots of happy customers.
I'm assuming all the people complaining have bought the hart plenums? Because i couldn't give a shit if it's a blatent copy if it works and is cheaper. Sounds harsh but it doesn't affect me.

Can always hope the airtech ones are made from shit metal and fail lots.
Scammer trick really. Hope someone copies all there stuff and has it made in china, rips the arse out of there prices and shuts them down. See how those counts like it.

Simple really, if your the first to do something well done. Reap the benefits while you can because someone is undoubtedly going to come along and do the same/similar cheaper.

You cant invent the wheel again so what i think people did at AS is make it better
What's the problem that it looks the same, at my work we make brass instruments like trumpets, can you change the looks of a model??? No, this will not mean that we are making copies, we only make adjustments and do other thing to make it sound better and much easier to play

A few people seem to say it's better ..........maybe i've missed that bit . but i've not seen any figures to back the claim up yet ......

Nothing to do with what core is or is not used just thought it was a blinkered comment.
Having spoken to the Pro-Alloy guys they explained in simple terms with coolers its always a comprimise between flow and cooling effeciancy and you have to pick a happy medium.
Either way I have ordered a Airtec cooler to replace my Genuine 500 one and as long as the inlet temp to engine stays below 40 degree it will be perfect for my car, my dash displays the charge temp reading from the brown (ACT) sensor so I will be keeping an eye on it.

This is why some spec R coolers have been up for sale already - this will bring on another 10 page thread about ACT's but who gives a shit when you use the car for blasting around the streets and not in any competition.
I bet Airtec sell more new YB coolers in January than Spec R have made and sold of their version

True
Christ the 70mm kept up with the Spec R with the primitive old style of build, i've seen the new item and it looks a lot better and takes the original design from the Europeans with rounded end tanks - i'm sure i was told that one has been tested against the spec R and with surprising results - it wasn't just built i think development when it to it

Why dont they genuine hart people just match that price? Obvioulsy they have to cover R&D but if they aint selling any because they are available elsewhere considerably cheaper theyve just chucked that money away?

The problem with this day and age is that people are happy to make £10 on a product just so they can massively undercut the next person, this means they need to sell a lot more to make the same profit.
So really where is the business sense in that ? If they want to undercut someone then cool, do that but £100 IMO is a lot of money their throwing away IF the product is identical.
I have it at work daily, people on ebay thinking their clever undercutting us, in some cases by a LOT of money but were still selling stuff and making a much better profit than I expect they are.

Not always the case, Stu isn't the cheapest on everything but I don't see MSD going down the pan

Depending on the product they can and will more than likly be selling alot more than you are to make up the numbers.. £100 is nothing if your making the product for £50 quid LOL and as they will be buying in bulk its a cheaper production cost so there profit is higher althought it looks like they are loosing that £100.

Hmm, yeah i see what you mean. That £100(if product is good) in terms of business is a massive chunk lost or is it genuinely just over priced by the hart people? If that was the case in terms of business it would only ever be a short lived success surly? Or maybe they are confident there product is good(proven by MAD crew) and is priced correct in this market?
How can it be "lost" when it was never there to start with? Auto specialist didnt have it advertised for X amount then drop it down by £100 to Y amount.. Just like everything if your ome of the first to do a product that people want you can deamand a premium but that can and will only last untill another company comes along and makes a product which in theroy is just as good or better for a lower price.. Answer me this the hart plenum is good and costs £600 delivered.. Test show that the AS one is better in all aspects and is £500 delivered.. Which one do you buy?
