Snow Socks, do they work??

Do these snow socks do any good? The missus wants to buy them for her car cos i sold the X5 , doh!

Oh she drives an audi A3 if it makes any difference!

From what I hear they work well, but you can only use them on snow and for limited distance. Use on a clear road will wear them out in no time.
