How Many left?
Not sure if this is old news (apologies if it is), but I came across this website which gives stats on which cars are still taxed/SORN'd.
www.howmanyleft.co.uk
For some models you have to add different cars together, like RS2000 4x4/RS2000 4WD and Escort RS Cosworth/Escort Cosworth, but it still makes interesting reading. We're approaching the 50% mark for Escort Cossies still on the road.
We've lost around 90% of Fiesta RS Turbos from the road: 3189 of them 16 years ago, now down to 300.

For the same time period, around 98-99% of Pug 309 GTis and Renault 19 16Vs are gone!

has been posted many times before but still a handy site to get ball park figures from, according to them my car has only 80 specimens still remaining, and over half of them are sorn or no longer fit for the road

So, add this (escort cos)
http://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle...scort_cosworth
And this (escort RS cos)
http://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle...rt_rs_cosworth
And that would give 719 taxed, and 531 SORN - Total 1250 remaining.
Sounds about right - 7500 made wasn't it?
The figures for 1997 on the road seem low though, at just 1600. I suppose there is no indication of how many were off the road at that time though?

Its is completely inaccurate, I can name more cars on the road for some of these apparent rare vehicles than that site shows. It will be a great resource for ebay sellers to bump up the price on older cars though. Last one left etc..

I'm not sure why people think the figures are bullshit
All the cars I've looked for, including my own two fairly rare Mercs, the figures are exactly what I was expecting.
I even did a "how many left" search first to see if I was a bit Titanic, but it just threw up a load of shit
