Default 2008 transit van shacking badly

my 2008 transit van once you get to 50mph in 4th gear or 5th gear doestn matter what gaer the van shakes really badly if you take your foot of the acelerater or dip the clutch it stops but tonight when i was going up a hill at 65mph the traction control light came on and would not go off and i believe that once this light had come on the van stoped shaking when i turned the van off and restarted the light went off and never came back on but the van was shaking again at these speeds any help would be greatfully recieved

Is it Traction control or ESP, if ESP you should have a button on the dash to disable it, but its then enabled automatically at 40mph.

If it's got ESP it's also got Traction control but it can have only Traction control only.

Sounds like it may be faulty wheel sensor triggering the T/C and applying the brake on one side, and what you are feeling is very rapid bursts of hard braking on one side.
When the light stayed on it could be the T/C self detecting the fault and disabling itself.

Resetting the disable when you restarted?

I've got a 10 plate with ESP.
my ESP is flashing on and off a lot at the moment with the slippery roads, and only 3mm of tread on the fronts, (leased van they won't change them yet)

Did the shaking start immediately after the new tyres were put on?

Could be out of balance.

Swop the front wheels to the rear.

yeah i can remember old clarkson road testing one of the early focus rs, and he moaned about the judder on the front end when eccelerating, said something about the diff,
so maybe if you can disconnect the traction control plug, if you can do it on your van, if it has traction control, and see if it then doing it still or not

2 sizes of shafts of the transits, we had this problem before and they were always sending the wrong ones, larger for the smaller or smaller for the larger

think they are about £250 for the shaft and cv
