How heavy is a 325i? I reckon with some weight reduction, 450 bhp plus maybe a little laughing gas you could play with lambos up to approx 140, after, maybe not.

i agree very much with this but theres alot of stripped out fords out there that weigh less than a tonne and are pushing a good 400hp
so in that sense do you not think its justifiable to be keeping up atleast with a lambo that weighs 1600k?
looking at it in a certain way thats like 60% more weight and all you have to pull it is an extra 150bhp?

so if for example a stripped rst weighs a tonne which in actual fact i think weighs less and is pushin near 400hp and a lambo weighs 1600k and is 550 hp then the power to weight ratio on the lambo is what

550/1600 = 0.34hp per kilo
0.34x1000 = 340hp
lambo only pushes 340hp per tonne so a well set up turbo will be gone in the distance before you you can even think of your next gear cahange and as said earlier lambos only have power at high revs and even at that you need a top driver to release its full potential

its been proven on top gear when a hefty evo8 fq400 i think with 400 bhp was right up the lambos ass and the lambo driven by a touring car driver i think it was jason couldnt pull a gap??

if a lambo is so much faster and so highly rated why are you people who are ford lovers saying lambos are so good?

fords FTW!!!

i think a 325i is around 1200kilo its got a tag on slam pannel with sumthin near 1200 i think
i would say a 450hp e30 would be on par with a lambo without weight reduction or gas? would be a high quote but i think with the correct ratio diff it would be hard for a lambo to pull away

LOL theres some cossie's without a doubt could take a lambo or ferrari but not many.. One thing about most cossies is there underpowered the owner reckons they have 450hp they more than likely have 380-400hp its pub talk.. The gallardo is a awesome car without a doubt and I would love to have one sometime soon

We know that but, average Lambo is what £40-50k upwards (secondhand ones), average standard Cossie, 6-8k?

I'm sure most people would rather have a Lambo or similar to a Sierra but the simple fact is, most people can't afford them, so we make the best out of what we can afford.

I personally wouldn't want a Lambo, Ferrari etc, i'd feel like a bit of a twat driving it tbh, if i had the money i'd much rather have a fast saloon, V10 M5, Audi RS6 etc.

i think your looking at it wrong. instead of spunking thousands of pounds and the man hours on a rattly old tin box for a possible brief moment of glory (although the chance of ever landing next to a lambo at the traffic lights has got to be pretty slim)why not put the effort into trying harder in real life so hopefully you can someday afford a lambo?
giving the chances of coming across one at the lights, him wanting to race a rusty shed and you winning should he go for it its unlikely.
plus even if you did win, your still the one going home in a scrapper. what a glory

Not being funny but if that's how you feel about Fords, why are you on here? Not every Ford is a rusty shed believe it or not.

dont be shy, you can be as funny as you want, because the banters good and the people are sound, much better than the stuffy old bmw forum. the cars are shit though. and anyone seriously prefering a sierra over a lambo is clearly an idiot, the cosworth engines the only good thing they did.

i'd love to see the most tuned escort rst up against the most tuned lambo, it wouldn't be worth the filming. a tuned cheap car could keep up with a bog standard lambo, put a tuned twin turbo lambo against a tuned rst and it'll destroy it, some of those are running 1500hp

I think that the chance of us owning a lambo is quite slim so thats why we spend loads and put in the man hrs so wen the day comes and u get the chance against something fast. And u give it a go all them man hrs pay off .can u imagine the lambos drivers face being smoked by as u say a rusty old cossy .priceless ....

If a RST was meant to perform like a supercar they would have the price tag to go with it. Surely there would be a company buying them up as standard and modifying them and turning them out as supercars and making a profit from it. The likes of ferrari spend time and money on R+D to make them what they are. What comes out of a forum like this is cars that people have put hard earned cash in to and can call them their pride and joy. I would love to be able to say I have a Sierra Cosworth sat in the garage but I can't afford one also that a supercar makes you look like a prick. But hey thats just my opinion.

It is suppose to be passionford so you are going to have people who would have a ford over a Lamborghini . You are clearly the idiot for coming on this site if you have so much hatred for fords.

wow, that certainly told me
even the most blinkered ford tattood chav would need to be retarded , never mind simply an idiot, to prefer a old ford over a lambo.

i agree about the french stuff. im more likely to own a ford than a french car. saying that i do have a ford, a 58 plate transit, but as in everything else , the germans do it better, my new sprinter is a much nicer place to be.

I bet not many people on here could afford Lamborghini's or Ferrari's or whatever though so it's a bit irrelevant really.

lets hope mercedes didnt use the metal that they used in the VITO's then....think they sourced that metal from a rusty ww2 german U boat at the bottom of the sea

I've had BMW's, a Porsche, quite a few Vaux's and Opels, Fords ,Toyota's, Honda's etc

if i'm honest i haven't been "impressed" with the fords i had, but i wouldn't rule out another fast ford, i still do like them, just wouldn't have it as a daily driver

The only time ive seen a Lambo against a Ford in any real life aspect, was croft in 08 on the 0-60. was a Gallardo against the Nail. lets just say, the guy in the Lambo, was not very pleased getting by Blacky in a shonky old escort van, that cost less than £5k to build

But obviously, this was 0-60, in a straight line, not a proper race, over 60 with bends and corners involved

Quick Reply: lambo performance?
