Default Finally got a new car but its not a petrol turbo..

Its a diesel turbo

I went and looked at a few Leon Cupra R 225s 2 out of the 3 had more to hide than met the eye, one was good, clean, one owner but high mileage and the seller wanted too much for it and wouldnt budge long and the short of it i nearly ended up having a punchup with his brother so i left before it got out of hand

So on a spur of the moment i went to look at a 2004 reg leon cupra same looks as the cupra r bar alloys and a few bits but the tdi version, 86,000 miles, one owner, immaculate inside and out, full dealer service history full MOT and 6 months tax, hpi certificate, £3500

Ended up coming away with it and love it, its pokey and quick enough for what it is and what i need so very happy, in hindsight the way fuel is even though i feel i could now afford to run a petrol turbo maybe diesel is better, put a tenner in it and got home (82 miles) and got to work and back today (14 miles) and the its still just under 1/4 of a tank

Am i right in thinking its the same PD150 tdi engine as fitted to the golf mk4s in these? it is 150 bhp.

They have the ARL 150 PD engine in. Drove a chipped one that is 197hp and gets 45mpg round town

Yep same lump. I would take one of these over the equivalent Golf any day due to the superior handling. GREAT choice of car but get a remap to unlock its full potential

I had an FR150 tdi, great cars..

If you re-map it and get near or over 300lbs/ft of torque be prepared to replace the clutch at some point.

Solid flywheel and uprated clutch is the way to go IMO

Is it a 1.9 or 2.0?

Personally i'd stay away from a solid flywheel, but it is a cheap alternative should you need a new clutch and flywheel.
