Vernier pulleys - piper bp285 cams
Ive just bought a mk2 xr2.
Basic spec so far:
2 litre silvertop zetec
Pipercross bp285 cams
Vernier pulleys
Ported and polished
4 branch manifold
R1 carbs
Megajolt ect
Uprated rst fuel pump
Uprated shocks and springs
Strut brace
4x4 cossie brakes (front)
Roll cage
I bought it as a 'rough runner'...
It was top end tappy, and was flat on the road. So i thought it was probably noisy lifters and the timing was out.
I went to replace the lifters yesterday, and someone has overtightened the cam carrier caps, and removed the threads. So the noise was probably the cams not being tight. I have ordered a time sert kit, so the threads can be fixed. However... I will time the engine up to factory settings. Has anyone any idea what to adjust the vernier pulleys to with piper bp285 cams??
