Default MK3 Mondeo Oil Leak???

Next door neighbour has a 2003 diesel Mondeo with a severe oil leak. It leaves masses of puddles every time it parks up, dripping away consistently from what looks like the left side front of the sump (not from the sump itself).

So before I get it on ramps to fix it on Tuesday, can anyone half the time by telling me roughly what the prone/common leaks would be?

Cheers,

Al

Checked the sump and it look spot on after a bit of pressure washing, but not really had time to get it on the ramps.

But is the crank seal a common fault on this engine?

pressure wash it clean, then look for the tell tail drips, my money would be on a crank seal but make sure it's engine oil and not transmission fluid or a diseasal leak
