toad all the way, all my cliffords have been pains, go off in the middle of the night, had to cut friends ones out for them on the side of the road as they have just immobilised the car for no reason, toads always been reliable and can have lots of features like anti jack etc... plus there cheaper

You are correct in that the clifford avante guard 5.5 is a cat1 alarm and does come with remote start out of the box.

But, you are wrong as the physical act of wiring in the remote start circuit invalidates the thatcham cat1 classification.

Sorry, that read badly! My alarm of choice is the AI606

Any cat1 alarm with remote start wired in invalidates the that ham cat1 classification. This doesn't necessarily invalidate insurance though, you must declare it!
