Default any one done a clutch on a porsche 911?

my mate has asked me to change his clutch on a 2002 porsche 911 996 its a 3.6 4x4 i think any one any experience?

is it engine out job?

or have a idea how long it is to do?

Not an engine out job, if you have a ramp it shouldnt be too bad as there very well designed cars.
I never had the box out of mine but know guys that have and recon on about 2 hours to have a box out.

Also if your doing the clutch it may be a good time to change out the IMS seal as they go on these engines and leak oil into the clutch.

My mate just had his done on his 997 turbo..... He paid a guy from the local Porsche dealership to do it, took him 11 hours on a ramp...

Cheers guys a bit off google searching looks like about 12 hours I told him to pop car round tonight and I will take a look at what sort off job it is

Just spoke to Porsche and they say 13 hours and want 1908 pounds plus vat plus parts

1st time 12hrs 2nd time just over 10 not a bad job to do better than alot of fwd cars also a good idea to change crank seal at the same time common to leak.
