Default Driving Experience

Well, I just turned 21 last Wednesday and the mother in law has bought me a driving experience. Get in!

So I'm in Bolton, and I'm thinking of doing it at Oulton Park as its not too far from me, and I've got the choice of the following...

Aston Martin Vantage V8 / DB9 *
Audi R8
Ferrari F355 / 360 Modena *
Lamborghini Gallardo

* Depending on venue

Which one should I choose!!! I'm torn between them all really lol. I know a few people who have expected more from the Ferrari's...

Who has done one before and whats your experience been?

Dazz

It all depends on you, the instructor and the circuit Daz. I've done a few and they vary greatly between venue and instructor. Generally if you show you can drive quickly but safely then they'll let you give it some but a few I've done were disappointing. I'd youtube the venue and experience and then choose from there. Prestwold Hall near Loughborough is good. I drove a Nissan Gtr there and overtook everything. But you've got a few nearer. The best advice other than youtube is to decide which car you want to say you've driven.

Daft as it sounds, often the better experiences in terms of the actual driving are the ones in the cheaper less exotic cars, as they are less protective of them.

Depends if you think you would enjoy it more really hammering a hot hatch round a rally stage, or just gentley driving an aston etc.

Chip's got a good point but I don't think it's an option here. I did a rally experience and used an Evo5 on tarmac and a Nova GTE on the gravel which you got to really push both as they want you to go as fast as possible.

I did this recently, with 6th gear experience at pro drive near kenilworth.

You can buy extra laps in any of the cars there on the day.

Oh and i chose the audi r8 purely for the noise, clutch was ever so heavy and so was the gear change, but was ok after getting used to it.

Definitely something in that. I did one over the summer in a Fiesta of all things. I must say, I really enjoyed it. Car was slow as shit, but was good to sit next to someone who really knew what they were doing and get some tips and advice, especially when they didn't care about the car, so it didn't matter if you went wide and into the rough a bit, as it was all part of the learning process.
