RS 200 pistons????........................
Just goin through some old parts to flog and I've found the pistons that cock jockey @ BSW put in my old zetec turbo build. He said they were RS 200 items, but I just want to make sure before I flog em on fleebay.
They've got cosworth stamped into them and the numbers/markings ;
18201a and 731 on the inside/underneath, and there are faint numbers on the bottom that look like theyve been ground/sanded away?? Whats that all about then??
Can anyone confirm they are rs200 jobbies and what cr are they as standard.
Oh and what are they worth!? Think I payed £400 for em!

RS200 were 1.8 and RS200 EVO were 2.1. Alloy block and head so probbaly it was special RS200 engine not borrowed from some other car.

Mine was a 2.1 zetec if that helps and was told they were RS 200 pistons. Sketch had the same in his zetec turbs. may have been £600 come to think of it and my rods were £400. One way or the other. LOL

Jim....
I gave one of mine for Karl to look at, and we concluded that there werent RS200 pistons, but from something else (cant remember what ).
If BSW had yours skimmed as much as mine (to get C.R to a 'sensible' level), they would only be safe around the 1bar boost mark before they might start falling apart. Maybe a bit more, but how long it'd last, who knows?
Still worked fine at 260bhp or so for 20k miles, so not bad for someone who wants to keep power sensible and costs down.
I got £200 ish for my set on the standard rods....

I stuck them on e-bay mate, but in the end sold them privately as I had loads of questions sent to me etc (so worth making sure you put everything relevant you can in your description) and loads of the people were asking how much to end the auction early etc, so i just told them all £200 or something, and someone paid up
You have PM regarding the C.R!
