Default S8 ecus...

Hi people,
I don't suppose anyone has any info. regarding the old S8 mappable injection systems?,if i'm not mistaken the ecu was designed by Simon Johnson, flux capacitor or whatever his name is now.
Has anyone ever fitted and run one of these ecus in a cosworth ford?.
I remember that they could be programmed with a lap-top but that's it.
Any info. would be very helpfull.
Ta guys.

I had one in mine for a while, although it was about 7 years ago now and not seen one since so not sure I'll remember much that is useful about it.

What do you want to know?

Hi chip,
In a nut shell would it be worth considering to buy used? and most importantly for me,does it have an ignition retard feature within for nitrous oxide use?
What kind of features did this ecu have against the normal L6,L8 Weber ones?(apart form the obvious self mappable one).
Was it easy to re-map?,what kind of equipment was needed?
I'm also asking because i unfortunatly bought a compleat Mirosquirt ecu to fit on my engine but found out that it has no nitrous retard function so i'm considering this S8 ecu, also because it plugs into the already working Weber injection loom so no buggering around with intefaces and cutting/adding wires.
Cheers.

Honestly cant remember if there was a retard feature or not TBH mate, as I didnt have nitrous on my car back then so didnt need to use it.

The mapping software was a bit clunky looking (its old DOS software) but fundamentally worked.

I doubt there is much support for them these days so I probably wouldnt recomend one TBH

Not sure why your megasquirt hasnt got that feature, but should be easy enough to add to it if it hasnt.
