my mates series2 used to do the same but his was worse his didnt even attemp to turn over at least mine turns over but just wont fire

S2 do it due to the starter moter being under the turbo ( i think ) mine does it now and then when i take it out and punish it....

3i's had a similar problem which was a starter motor location problem as well. Mine was a nightmare for that. I think I remember someone at the time saying it was near the exhaust manifold or similar.

i know there is something wrong with mine, just wondered if somone could shed some light on it, o and i know other cossies that do the same thing so thought it might be a common problem

What do you mean when it wont start, does it turn over but not fire or does it just not turn over at all?

okay, i'll see... was asking that cause mine, not me cossie but me fez, is having some startproblems when it's cold and wet outside,
so maybe there was a change yours had the same problem.
Don't know why it happens but i just deal with it...

but if it was leads and plugs woulgnt it be playing up under load and in normal driving
