start first time in the morning everytime but when you go for a decent run in them, then turn turn them off they refuse to start for 5 minutes

 

cause it's a bloody cossie, that's why

 

my mates series2 used to do the same but his was worse his didnt even attemp to turn over at least mine turns over but just wont fire

 

S2 do it due to the starter moter being under the turbo ( i think ) mine does it now and then when i take it out and punish it....

3i's had a similar problem which was a starter motor location problem as well. Mine was a nightmare for that. I think I remember someone at the time saying it was near the exhaust manifold or similar.

 

mines always first turn no matter what conditions.....watch this it wont start today after saying that!

it turns over just wont bark up

 

o it only happens now and then probably about 5 times in about 8 months

Is the engine management light staying on at all when it happens?

 

no everything is fine as it should be, just wont fire

 

okay, i'll see... was asking that cause mine, not me cossie but me fez, is having some startproblems when it's cold and wet outside, so maybe there was a change yours had the same problem. Don't know why it happens but i just deal with it...

 

I would say leads/plugs but not too sure

 

do we get summer here must of blinked and missed it last year

 

but if it was leads and plugs woulgnt it be playing up under load and in normal driving

 

As i said i'm not to sure, i suggested these as i couldn't think of anything else They're probably still worth checking anyway
