Default dash board warning symbol(diesel focus)

my mate has a 55 plate focus 1.8 tdci thats just had a 07 plate engine fitted from a scrapyard,everythings been fine until now but keeps cutting out the takes about 5 minutes before it will restart then fine again.the following symbol keeps coming on dash but what does it mean and what problem is it picked up.

its symbol number 24

googled dpf problems with diesel focus and now need to know how do you "manually regenerate the DPF"?

rag it over 2.5k rpm for about 20 min.

Thats what you have to do for regeneration, short journeys round town etc means it will never reach the temperature to burn the crud off and that what blocks them.

Ideally a blast on the motorway for around 30 mins would be ideal!

Driving in a lower gear but at the same speed= more revs, so this will help as well!

Does it have an Autobox? Looks like a gearbox related warning sign to me.

no mate manual box,but might not be the dpf as the focus 1.8tdci is not suppose to have one

Think its only the 1.6 tdci that has the dpf

Realised the Op'S car is 2005 and engine is from 07 car, so maybe it doesn't.
