Dont worry lads MO's RST will put these drag star 1.2 Corsa's down .

A David Brown tractor is quicker to 5mph than a Ferrari 360 & thats a fact.

How can a 1.2 N/A engine be more "responsive" than a 2L turbo engine ?

At any point in the rev range the 2L will have more torque and be more "responsive" while the 1.2 will feel "gutless"

If it was Brunters with Datron (or similar) then I reckon it will be right, Ford Fair however..... 450hp doesn't surprise me, mine had too much wheel spin at 2.88 0-60.

Yeah its difficult to get the power down through 225 rally slicks

I'd just been on track in my first session with boost down low and dad didn't realise, set the fastest time all day!

Never done a 0-60 in the new car, might have a go one day if it doesn't sell but can't be arsed with all that anymore tbh. I'm officially an old bastard now

No offence you need to know how to drive it properly! As standard they are sub 6 seconds in the dash to 60 which few cars can do nowadays, leave alone a Corsa lol!

You need to learn where the powerband lies with the Cosworth, get it right and you will get a nice launch, get it wrong and they bog down and you wont get off to a fast start... initially!

Martin

That also looks like it could be quicker if perfected Short gearing does help though doesn't it?

Are you for fucking real...?... Mate has a redtop corsa tricked up and my standard 3dr at 10 psi smashed it a new arse hole off the lights and upto 150mph where I couldn't see him anymore... And here is what happens when they think they can corner faster than me off a round about... Like I said in your other thread... Real men drive 3dr cosworth... This lad tried beating me through 3 round abouts... I exited the last one at 60 on full lock... And this was a red top....

I'm not really beaten by age tbh (Harvey is older) but I've lost interest, if the engine and box sells them an evolution will appear...

No! Dad wanted his longer for 0-60 as turbo cars love to pull against a big gear as I'm sure your aware.

Too many gear changes sometimes but for tracks like cadwell and airfields it was great and very sharp!

Agreed, slightly longer would have been better but getting cleanly away with 3.6 gearing almost certainly results in wheel spin.

Martin I only nipped shop and some 21yr old said his corsa was quicker... So off I went down a staight to the first round about by this time I'm already 15 cars in front... Then he must have thought I'll get him through the round abouts.... How wrong was he.... .... I looked In my mirror as I exited the last round about and saw him bouncing from the kerbs....

So I had to go back and help him... When the coppers turned up I told him to tell them his ball joint had gone....
