I don't see how you can come to that conclusion mate..
Let's not forget that the corsa will have significantly less grip due to skinnier tyres (175s?) and the lack of LSD means that the little power there is will more than likely be wasted. As said above they aren't even that much lighter than a cossie either...
It's a bit like saying a Honda c50 moped will get to 20mph faster than an R1 because it's hard to launch an R1...

So does this mean my 1.1 fiesta with 55bhp and very little torque will be quicker of the line than a cosworth/evo/skyline/supra/rs turbo/rx7/impreza

Because its lighter than any of the cars i mentioned above and dosent have any lag?

Alright folks we'll leave it there shall we? And Martin, before you try getting rid of the cossie, send it down the 1/4 mile (and 0-60/100 etc), there's gotta be a low 10 in it, and whats this WRC car J1mbo?

Old fiesta's are shit mate, i know as i used to have one when i was a kid. New engines are out of this world compared to the old engines. They provide much more torque and power compared to twenty years ago. New engines are designed to be pokey of the line as there made with town driving in mind.

This is my life mate! jokes. What im saying is true though although most are to stupid to understand. I tied googling it to get the equation for acceleration, but then v need another equation to work out velocity and its gets proper complicated.

There are PLENTY of educated people in here mate, lots have posted on this thread I would start listening to them if I were you, you might learn somthing!

Seriously, if you can't get a T3 cossie away faster than a 1.2 Corsa, on pretty much any surface any weather, you need help! You wouldn't even need to launch it hard!

If you could launch a car. You really wouldnt be having this STOOOOPID discussion.

No need to dust off your CV here Lee, from what I've read, I could throw my 16 month old Labrador into the equation instead and still have a good chance of victory in that game of Top Trumps mate.

sorry mate, but a good maintained motor will always do xx sec. to 30/60/100 or whatever mph, never mind how old the engine is.........

Thought you said it was simple physics?

Way I see it, (x) you don't own a Cos, (y) it's running like warm dogshit or as said (a) you can't pedal it for peanuts.

Now lets equate...

(y) + (a) vs. probability (x) = STFU & stop digging FFS!

Go over to Migweb & say a 1.25 Fiesta can beat a Cav turbo off the line, see how you get on...

Hang fire mate... Not once have I insulted him or bullied him... I'm only talking as I would to his or anyones face... But I just can't see how he thinks the corsa beating the cossie logic works.

Luke sounds a nice decent bloke on most of his replys he adds a crying face to most so he knows it's all just discussion and banter... If I ever came out with such nonsense I expect Luke to shoot me down on here..

Cheers mate its ok though. It is just banter most of it, all of it just bores me but can take it on the chin. I would like to personally "introduce" myself to some people though, maybe when the shows kick of next year.

But like i say it gets me through the day lol
