Default can you change your HID bulbs without getting a new kit?

I have a set of H4 HIDS on my fiesta, but the bulbs arent very good, not producing that much light, is it possible to put different H4 HID bulbs on the transformer pack thing that comes with it? (electronics rookie)

cheers

They're H4's, just had a quick look under the bonnet at the power-transformer-thingy's which say on them

"HID 35-MD-03
V in 9-16v
V norm 13.5
l norm 3.2A
l in max 10A
P out 35W norm
T case -40 - +105degrees c"

then it reads to the side "vout 23kv max"

so if anyone knows wether i can swap these bulbs for brighter ones, or any help at all this would be much appreciated as im an electronics retard.

cheers

Something wrong if they don't seem bright mate..
Bulbs last for years..
May be as well just buying a new kit and start again, mine were £25 delivered from eBay.

Thats probly part of the problem.. No decent HID kit will cost 25quid.. Good bulbs cost more than that

Mine are spot on.
Amazing how cheap stuff is out of China, most of the expensive kits are made there anyway for huge big name companies.
No issues at all with mine. £25 delivered.

Ideally you'll want whatever voltage you've got at your battery. Anyless and there's problems.

H4's should have a seperate supply and earth to the control relay, this might be built into the ballast but it depends on the kit. Voltage on the existing wiring shouldn't be an issue so long as there is enough power there to turn the kit on.
Just check the earth and power connections to the control relay, if that fails, bin it and buy new. I'm impressed with my sniper automotive kit, www.in-car-stuff.com I think it was, same as slammedorion above

"V norm 13.5"
"Vout 23KV max"
