i have some issues with clearance on a project.

if i turn the alternator around so it faces the engine and mount it the other way will it still charge ok and just be the fan going wrong way round ?

Apparently it will work,I posted last year about a mate of mine dropping a Scorpio v6 into a scimitar and that was the only issue

I think it was tabs that said it would work

Try a search of my threads it'll be in there,am on my phone and it won't let me search or copy n paste

Alternator will work, but as you said the fan may not be as effective. You could get a fan that is made to spin the other way though, if it starts getting too hot.

Surely it will just suck electricity in and then give the engine more power through the belt and pulley?

yes it charges/ yes it overheats /yes it destroys the alternator / yes anticlock alternators exist/yes u can get anti clock cooling fans
