On my BC gearbox I have an Aeroquipped connection on the bottom which I have been told was for a transmission fluid cooler. I was thinking about re connecting it in an attempt to help keep the box healthy. Would there be any real benefit in doing this to imcrease gearbox life? Does the fluid ever get so hot on track days where it can cause bearing and geartooth wear? It's a BC FWD box with Quaife SC Gearset and ATB with IB5 bearings.

I'm guessing it would need a pump and a thermostat also?

Dunno how relevant this is but when lotus built the esprit they used the same gearbox ive got in my 5 (renault un1 transaxle) and when they put a full undertray under the gearbox it overheated the box, so they had to run without, and that was on a road car.
So i would say having a cooler on a track car is a good thing.
Id like to do that to mine to.
