Personally im amazed that cosworth did just go "hey lets travel 20 years into the future and get some ultra responsive hi flow injectors and a DTA P8 PRO ecu"
Twenty years ago it was a good idea.
Funnily enough nissan dont use twin injectors on the skyline, or mitsi on the evo, or ford on the focus rs, or toyota on the supra, or ANYONE building a modern high performance car.
I guess they are all stupid like me too cause they are in the same century as me, not stuck with you in the last one with all the other clever fellas.

Oh, and yes you are right, i DO know better than cosworth did back then, for the simple reason ive got 20 years more technology and combined learning from all round the world to draw on than they had then, just like there are loads of people wandering around now who know more about physics that einstien, cause they have learnt from both him and others, where as he had to figure a lot of it out from scratch.
A man wishing to reach into sky should stand on the shoulders of others (or use a plane, but that would be too modern for you of course so thats ruled out too, just keep standing on tip toes and waving)

mike, i was comparing them one cylinder at a time, and the only reason that some of them need to go to twelve injectors is for MASSIVE power, as they cant get injectors big enough with a high enough resolution for what they want.
The basic thing you are missing is this:
When building any turbo engine you want a certain amount of control over the injectors at low rpm, and then you want enough flow at full boost at high rpm.
If you cant get that from a single injector per cylinder you need another one.
In the 80s, 125bhp per cylinder was too much, now it isnt.
Hope that helps you to understand it, its very basic but still seems to be eluding you, basically the goal posts have moved thats all, 500bhp used to be an ENORMOUS amount of power from 4 cylinders, really straining technology, but now it isnt, cause we have much better injectors and ECUs than they had then.
In a minute you will be telling me "640K is enough for anyone" as thats what Bill Gates was claiming at the time the RS500 came out.

Its not just certain things about cars i know better now than cosworth did at the start of the 80s
I also know more about certain aspects of computing than bill gates did as the start of the 80s
I know more about certain diseases and how they spread than doctors did at the start of the 80s
Amazing stuff really, its almost as if man kind is moving forward all the time with technology, with each generation going further than the last.
Other than mike cockmuncher rainbird of course he's too busy with dicks to notice the world around him changing.

no its not, im only talking about certain elements of each profession, not the whole subject.
and not just me either, LOTS of people now for example know about aids and how it spreads, but nobody did at the beginning of the 80s
