i hate my s2 just blown another engine
as above me and my mate went for a cooked breky got back in the car turned the key and all hell broke loose,
the engine eat itself the conrod came through the engine, this is my 3rd engine in the car since iv owned it, the last engine done the same thing on no1 piston but i was on boost when that one happened about 5 months ago
this engine was a rare 2.0 cvh american engine so im proper gutted now
i think it might be scrap yard time for this car, what a money pit all fords are the same, im a ford man but i dont know why as there the most unrelable cars on the road by far,
i just want to scream this car pushing me over the edge lol iv had 8 years of hell with it

Going full zetec now , good excuse for winter project.
You'll come back from it mate.
Still a pisser though

Thats bad luck, was the replacement engine a rebuilt by your self or just a secondhand fitted in?
I've never had an engine blow up - the only thing that has happened to any of my fords is a cam snapped on the Cossie which was an easy fix.
If you do decide to break my mate is looking for a load of bit's for his RS Turbo

Never had a engine blow in my Ford ownership, to be honest all of them have been reliable. But for some starnge reason I was always paranoid, lifting the bonnet all the time. lol
So went Jap touch wood for a 1yr half it's been all good.

Always found fords very tough engine wise, but like anything else when tuned up they are under strain.
Perhaps a big capacity n/a would suit you more, nice 2.3 rs2000 lump with a few add ons should give decent bhp and be very reliable.
Even a 2.1zetec turbo running relatively low boost should do just fine,200bhp in any scort is quick!!!

A good cvh should be very realiable sorry to hear your experiences but with unknown engines its always a risk . A good decent rebuild will be a strong and capable unit . Certainly can be VERY realiable it usually means hand in pocket as they are very old now and seen hard use .

In my many years of owning tuned Fords and knowing others who too share the same cars the majority of the time the engines have blown is because they were not tuned or set up correctly.

i doesen,t sound right to me either there was no problem when i pulled up but the second i turned the key there was a huge munching metal noise,
the conrod wasnt hanging out but theres a hole the same size as a golf ball right behind the alternator exactly the same as my last engine but in the last 1 the conrod was gone, so im guessing its still in there but getting smashed around,
i will have a good look tomorrow and let you know whats happend, iv never heard of this happening of turning the key

i stripped it down today and the conrod snapped in half just like my other engine, i think a cvh is not for me, or just get a good set of rods next time, i think iv found the cvh,s weakness among aload more lol like the hole thing its a terrible standard engine, but it is old and i never rebuilt it so it my own fault realy
time to leave it in the garage for a few years again and leave the turbo engines alone thay cant handle me lol
