Tax office are really playing silly beggers at the moment!

My self assesment has been in since april and I haven't had anything back yet and they are on my back because of my VAT yet they haven't sent me the password I need to sort it out. They keep threatening to take my belongings!!

HMRC = Thieves above the law*

Gavin.

*until I get all my money off them, then they will be ok!

I got a full list off each which showed everything i had got off of them. Then sat down and sorted out a list for each year and totalled it up so they had a list for 2006 with a total and so on and so on the lists from the tool dealers where there as proof then i just did a note with my name address national insurance number and basic details on it telling them who i worked for and i wonted to claim back the tax on my work tools i had payed for over the years

carnt see how that works as the inland revenue will only let you go back as far as 5th april 2006! for me anyway as you can only claim back 6 years i think

That's what I thought, last week there's was 10 statements all from the inland revenue, one for each year my snap on statements go back for, showing my earnings, how much tax paid and how much spent on tools.

do it yourself on line ,its not rocket science. you dont pay a middle man a fee , the inland revenue will help if you require . last year i did mine and had the rebate paid directly int my account within 6 days. i need to sort out this years asap.
