'everybody says there shite'
what are you going on about?
Be honest.... have you actually read this thread at all?
I don't think you have, have you!
I see loads of praise for the RS2000 on this thread from LOTS of different people.
You have just made yourself look a total bellend....
nice rant about the '2nd fastest Escort ever made' feel better now?
TRY READING THE THREAD.

Rather than call others names, why not use your intellect on a thread more suited to yourself. Honestly, why people argue on here is beyond me. A discussion with different views I can understand, but if someone is telling obvious bullshit, why sit there, for god knows how long, and try and prove that the bullshit statement, is in fact, bullshit.
we covered this!
I got bored of photoshop and Forza
I am just biding my time my mum goes to bed and I can wank myself silly over free porn channels!

Track peppered RS2k's dont look that bad, not that anyone said they did! Looks better then the pug that was going round imho.
Here's mine from the RSOC weekend
Must add that it, er, broke down, unlike the pug

having driven and worked on both many many times (even on with restoring an rs2000 currentley for a friend) i can say the 306 would be my choice any day of the week its a great handling car with plenty of poke (50mph in first!!!) wheras the escort handles just as poorly as any other mk5 or 6 escort and feels very underpowered for an rs model, plus people say they are increasing in value? maybe so but try selling one nobody seems to want them unless they are around Ł1500 which in my eyes is all a mint one is worth

But
Handles poorly?
Really?
I can't accept that, they definately do not handle poorly.

they have too little grip light floaty steering with poor feedback and in my opinion a poorly thought out rear end they would have been much much better with an independant rear suspension setup or even a torsion bar like the pug, as anything ive ever driven with a torsion bar rear handles like fuck when driven hard

I don't accept the underpowered arguement at all, that's just not true.
Look at the cars it was pitched against:
Astra GSi - 150bhp
Golf GTI 16v - 150bhp
Sunny GTI - 145bhp
306 S16 - 155bhp (the GTI-6 only came out as the RS2000 was dying, so no direct competition)
RS2000 - 150bhp. Sounds about right to me

im not talking about cars it was pitched against im just talking about 150bhp in a 1275kg car feeling underpowered which it does because it is, anything less than 200bhp in a car of that weight is going (to me) feel underpowered and pretty damn boring lol

Guys I'm sorry, I had some fun in my 2K but there are far better cars out there. My ST is so much more car for the same money. Okay I'm nearing middle age but for a day to day car, the RS doesn't tick the boxes as much as a 306. The RS isn't so highly thought of by the press for a reason whereas the 306 was the updated 205 gti. You're fighting a losing battle because the facts don't back up the Ford compared to it's rivals. But I will say it's a lot more car than a mk4.

Plus you think the MK5 / MK6 RS handles like any other MK5 or MK6 Escort. Are you for real, or just a 2k hater. Each to their own but it does make me laugh when people hate on the 2k's.

Has anyone who's defending the RS2000 actually driven a 306?
Just because people are saying that the 306 handles better than the RS (which is does) it doesn't automatically mean the RS was a bad handling car.

I've had RS2000's in the past and can hand on heart say my current 306 gti-6 is better in every single way. Ive been all over europe in mine this summer, done trackdays and been round Spa and the 'ring and its been faultless, does 140mph on the autobahn, yet still manages 43mpg on a cruise.
Even minirotty has praised mine and he's the rs2000 guru!!
Mine....

I can see why people like it, it looks decent enough, goes well, handles well but, for me, the RS is a better all rounder. Not as good dynamically, but the nicer interior and things just mean I prefer it.
Obviously that isn't allowed, and I'm wrong beyond all comprehension, but there we are

I have, a good friend of mine had a GTI-6 and I drove it. It was ok, sounded nice, went ok, but the gearshift, clutch and interior spoilt it for me. Despite the performance, it just didn't feel all that when you were sat in it, felt like the 1.4XN another friend had as his first car. I'm sure people would argue the same about the RS, but that's how it goes.
