Imo the r32s do look pretty dated now. And they dont have the same rear lights as the the r33gtr? Looks wise cossie all the way but the performance of the jap engine gearbox etc as standard is amazing

exactly my point rb26dett engines can be had for about Ł2k with all ancilaries plus gearbox

a standard cossie engine fetechs up to 2k

only reason i asked is the 4x4 gearbox seems the best upgrade and the hardest bit seems to be making it fit the cossie engine,

and as above the rb26 seem to be making really good power standard

can anybody see any obvious problems??

You'd be looking at moving the bulkhead back or atleast notching it.

Seen a few 3drs with 2jze turbo lumps from a supra so rb26 should be do able

ever since i put the skyline box in mine I wondered if the enigne would fit in,I would consider it if my enigne goes pop, either the bulkhead or radiator would need moving, its a long engine

If you look at the new Fast Ford mag there is an Escort Cosworth with a Skyline engine in. Not a Sierra I know but might give you some pointers as both cars had similar engines in from the factory

Hi interesting thread the escort cosworth in performance ford mag thus month is mine and I had to move the bulkhead back 8" to fit the straight 6. The sierra and escort cosworth engine bay is very similar so with bulk head mods it would be possable but you would have to make sure you get the rear diff the same ratio as the front skyline diff unless you fit skyline rear axel aswell

I suppose going 4x4 makes it harder as your governed as to were the shafts will fit.

More work than it's worth IMO

It would be a hell of a job to do it, but anything is possible, and you'd have a pretty unique car afterwards.

the escort is rwd though isnt it, i ahavnt read the article yet

but going 4wd when i measured everything up to get the driveshafts straight you wouldnt have to touch the bulkhead but the engine wanted to sit where the slam panel is
