Default Advice on series 1

Seen a s1 not far from my house. Price listed as 3k. Says in the advert that is doesn't need welded. And that it won't need much for the mot. The pictures don't look too bad. But its been sitting outside. Oh and I love a rotten ford. Thoughts? Its on pistonheads and car and classic websites.

why not say to the seller you will pay for mot and if all is good you will buy the car

if it turnes out to be a shitter he has to give you the money back for mot

im sure he will if he knows the car to be solid

if he says no fuck that then you will know he is chatting poo poo a bit

this one?

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3186339.htm

looks tatty but solid in the pictures but these S1's can hid masses of rot so you would need to get the carpets up and also have a proper nose underneath. Engine bay shot doesnt show the inner wings, another trouble spot.

If it is solid, and has chassis numbers in the floor and isnt a bogo escort shell with s1 id and bits slapped on then 3k aint bad.

Not much mention of history which always adds value.

This is it on the S1 database

Just off the phone to him. May seem a bit cliched but he seems genuine enough and apparently the car has had a fair bit of work. He has got pics of the sills and the wheel arches. Will get them sent on to me and go and have a look at it. Says there has been a lot of interest in it.

may be a good one to pick up mate, I know of a few in the past that have changed hands for small fry as the owners just got fed up and just wanted them gone.

Get down there and take a butchers, will be easy enough to spot a dog.
