I have been looking at these to use as an everyday car as they are so cheap. Is there a reason for this lol?

I've heard they are a bit thirsty but coming from an m3 don't think this will be too much of a problem!

What's peoples thoughts on these?

I had one mate I really liked it great handling car although a little thirsty for what it was still was a good car. Performance isn't great for being 170 bhp bit it still goes well enough. I had a problem with eml light going on and off every now and then turned out to be inlet manifold runner control system which was only about £1.50 to sort and a wheel bearing. I really enjoyed having mine but just wanted turbo power again so sold it on but would defiantly have another. Imperial blue is the best colour for them I would say.

We've run one as a daily for the last 4 years now. I worked out that we are averaging 27mpg and i've had it as low as 15mpg!
Essentially its a well specced focus, for the 5% of the time you can have a play in it its rewarding enough but will never satisfy you in terms of an out and out performance car.
Great car but theres plenty of haters on here.
Main issue we've had is the eml light coming on and off now and again. We've been happy with ours but will be getting something bigger within the next year, especially as its potentially got big bills looming - primarily the clutch. That takes the piss at almost a 3rd of the value of the car!
