Default RR Question

Folks, i'm not too clued up on RR tbh, ( like cossie4i)

So tell me, am i right in thinking, my car made 359bhp/363lb/ft @30 psi, WOULD that figure be more so to speak out on the road in real world conditions?? i.e make more boost too on the road??

Depends on the ambient conditions but you would expect it to make more power in real world conditions simply due to he heat soak on the rollers against the cooling wind on th motorway

Thanks dojj, i did think that tbh but wasn't 100% sure.

So now i'll open a can or worms, WHY do people (well some) prefer rolling road mapping compared to real world so to speak??

I'm not sure Pete, when you think Steve's made more boost on the road and showed it was lean on boost at the RR hence he turned it down a little.

The rollers are going to let you make the best your engine can do on that day under those conditions. If you do some live mapping out on the road you can "feel" how the car behaves.
But each to their own just don't confuse matters by bringing in dyno cells

On the rollers you are only moving the rollers while out on the road you are moving the vehicle and sometimes it's going to take anlot longer to get up the rev range out on the road.

Also, on the road you will get more issues with feuling as on the rollers a poor fuel set up isn't going to be as obvious as it is on a top speed run where most cossies suffer terminal issues

If I was on the computer I'd give you a long shpeil but I'm not

On a good rr like a dd for example its far better for mapping with than on the road as you can mimick high speeds, say 130 mph in 4th for example..

If your car was run in 4th on a dd it would of peaked and held a bit more boost than 3rd but as said will at times have more load on the turbo on road due to having to move the cars wieght etc..

i see my car being live mapped, it overtook me down the A127 and it wasn't doing 70mph, iv had my car set up on rollers and live mapped and seems to drive better after a live map on the road.
