Have you tried the cutout switch in the boot under the spare wheel? Press it in it might have poped out this happens all the time. Cheers.

If it doesn't run/try on easy start you know it's not a fuelling issue, that leaves sparks to look at.

the chances of the coil and amp failing at the same time are remote,
its more likely to be the crank sensor or the phase sensor in the dizzy.

The sensor in the boot will cause the two not to work too. Exactly the same happened to my saph try crossing the wires that go to it. You could even push a Stanley blade into the two to make a connection and get someone to turn the key

My mate had the same problem with his 4x4 and it turned out to be a fuse which is tucked up behind the dash (part of the original wiring) changed it and it fired up straight away! Can't remember if it was on the driver or passenger side though, worth checking!

Check/clean the the loom connectors behind the battery, one of them has the ignition live in it, black wire I think.

Mine was similar when I fitted a new loom, turned out to be a loose pin on the ignition live.

Have a look through these

http://www.cannell.co.uk/Ford_Worksh...20Diagrams.pdf

http://www.bigturbo.co.uk/

I'd check the wiring to the relays before messing with the immobiliser.

The inertia CUTOUT switch on a cosworth 4x4 is behind the kick panel in the drivers side footwell and you need a Philips screw driver to remove the panel

Maybe ford always new we would have a toolbox in the CAR
