Does anyone remember an old episode of deals on wheels where some guy was a serial Skoda modifier and sold a white kitted up rapide? Some oddball bought it and then sold the kit back to him all within the original deal

2nd car,4 door nova saloon, buckled 3 spoke sr wheels, shitty speakers everywhere and a graphic equaliser with wires everywhere screwed to the ashtray, purple theme with fablon over the headlights and 2 holes cut,1 with a jam jar the other with a dairylea lid, slammed with pi springs, early brown burst sr seats to match my grey interior, halfords chrome exhaust tip,air horns, smashed it twice in 2 days, then went and bought a maroon 4 door and pretty much did the same again.took a long time to grow out of that phase.I love nova saloons, the uglier the better!

Also repainted the whole car twice with rattle cans from a nice red to crap matt black, then back to red... LOL ....... was fast tho...

It was a lovely long ponytail, and my hair was dyed! If I had a time machine, I'd go back and punch myself in the face.

More pics...

Check out the 'ahead of my time' staggered fitment, and coloured rims!

HAHAHA!! I love those pictures! Too good!

And as said before...if the young you, met the younger me...i soooooo would have bricked your motor and chased you down the street lobbing bottles at you, screaming "kill the hippy bastard!"

ahaha, just seen the "digi clock that Neil wants" comment....i believe i spotted that in the office and then pissed my pants in a fit of laughter as you confessed, and then reeled off the other "mods" you did....my my, do i see electrical tape to colour code the gearstick? Verrrrrrry tasteful, why did that not catch on :-(

And in the first picture, with your smelly hemp smoking ponytail.....the angle and lighting are all wrong "how hard is it for people to take a decent picture of their car"...you've changed, oooh you have changed!

It was my first year at uni so would have been 1996 ish.

To be fair it landed me my first job on Revs as I wrote a funny article about it. I made sure I got shot of the car (after I rattle-canned it in primer) before I started the job. I did it for a laugh and knew it was shit.

I won't lie - I did love the car, and I've never driven anything that has had so much attention. It was a well known car around Burnley, but very probably because everyone thought I was a spaz!

Cant find pics of my first car but it was an ex police 2 litre 8valve Cavalier SRi Saloon. I bought a full GSI kit for it and put Wolfrace 17's on it. Being a facelift Mk3 I used to get the odd person asking if it was a Turbo

This is my 2nd motor, a Mk3 Astra 1.4 Hi-Torq Merit in Motability blue. Came complete with blue dashboard and interior plastics and had blue seats. I bought it with looking like it did, albeit on steel wheels, manky and faded to almost white. Was a fucking great motor cos as shit as it looked it had a C20XE in it with head work, fast road cams, chipped, full stainless system on it, home made cold air feed to modified airbox, panel filter, Cav rear axle with discs, front brakes from a Cav Sri and a full Bilstein suspension kit on it. The old girl went some!!

Then I sold it to a 17 year old who in 13 days got caught with no insurance, got caught speeding in a 30 then got caught racing doing 87 in a 50 zone, dangerous driving, fail to stop.........

and finally finished it off into the back end of a Micra

You know me better than that .

....i give abuse to Whitey more than anyone. For his Skoda, His Mondingo (which has a "boot protector" the size of a mouse mat), for his relentless "oooh i've got an app for that" and overkeeness to fist himself with his Iphone...for his gay walking/dancing and general mincy behaviour, the fact his Mrs's dresses him, and not forgetting his dad-like perspective on everything.

I do offer sound and friendly advice though, such as snorting "just do her up the bum, sup wi ya?" when we discussed family planning.

Check out the Skoda engine...he IS proud of that....BEAST!

haha....Chop, probably...i don't care. Nobody laughs at themselves more than i do. You know full well i don't "do" serious.

I am a characture of myself. Play up to it, act a cunt, retard, enjoy doing things that get a reaction. Nowt bothers me other than not havin' a laugh

I'd like to think that I've never really badly modified a car but I did drive this bad boy for a while. I actually wish I'd never sold it and put a V6 in the front.
