how to remove stop solenoid cover on 1.8 D
i am puting another engine into my van, so kneed the stop solenoid from old injector pump, but there a metal cover over it, how do i remove it ? seems to be stuck well, i tried prying it off with big screwdriver and only sucseded in taking skin off my finger

sorry for being dump, but whats a shear bolt ?
is that the ones you cant get out ? have to break them ?
any ideas where they are on the plate, i couldnt see any

it had a bolt with a round head, kept hammering a screw driver at it and it came loose 
took the plunger out of the stop solenoid and had the engine running hanging on the crane
