i was with HIC on my 3dr, insured through trinity lane.

cost £550 for a 400bhp zetec turbo, i could only get a 10k value on it even though it cost 35k to build, then on the day of it passing the mot it got wrote off!

and i still have not had a payout etc as yet as the fuckers that hit me did not stop, and there has been a whole catalogue of errors and a distinct lack of communication on the insurance side, to the point where i wrote a letter of complaint last week as they had just received a claim for injury from my passenger as the other vehicles insurance are also being cunts. last week in the etter they sent me, they were asking why there was a claim for injusr as my car was parked unattended in a pub carpark!

was it fuck ,it was int he middle of a very busy roundabout outside a pub

anyway, they have been put right and i am hoping to receive a payout soon!

so what i am getting at is, dont insure through HIC or Adrian Flux as they are joint companies, fine for taking your money, but totally fucking useless when it comes to paying out.

i for one will not be using them ever again!

paul insured me with a ban on my license.

remember hes a broker so he has a range of companies/schemes to insure through so although a lot of companies might get shirty at having points and a fast car, chances are paul will know which ones might accept you at a sensible price.

Its a bit late for you fudgey but needtoinsure do good cover on mods and you can have a policy similar to agreed value but based on an "indemnified value" of the mods you have reciepts for plus the market value of the car. So in some cases that can be better than agreed value.

i'm starting to get restless with them myself after my octavia got taken out. i pay nearly £600 a year to insure that car fully comp with them all mods declared etc, it'll be 4 weeks on monday sinse the accident and i've had 1 phone call from them! for 2 weeks now i've been getting the line that the cheque is just awaiting authorisation.
a guy i work with had his car cleared up by a drunk driver, 2 days later he had a cheque through! that was with directline though.

i guess it's true what a lot of people say, you never know how good an insurance company are until you have to make a claim.

I got mine for my track/road fiesta just last week, listed every mod thats been done to it. I used performance direct, £5K for value, did cost around £10k+ plus(alot of that labour). Got it on 3000 miles a year for £450 fully comp and I'm only 24.

I'll see how I get on this year, hopefully don't have any problems.

i should be thanking will really as i received a letter from the underwriters last week asking why there was a claim for injury when my car was parked and unattended in a pub carpark when it was hit.

that sparked me writing a letter of complaint saying how pissed off i was about the distinct lack of communication betweent them and i, and that i wont ever be reinsuring with again

i notified them that the car was hit on a busy roundabout outside a pub, and that the car was immobilised and left in the carpark of said pub awaiting collection.

the second letter i recived this week stated that i had repaired the car and was not seeking to claim anything back... with a statement fromt he phone conversation....

i had said that if needed i could make the car drivable, ie if they needed to take it away etc - not roadworthy. they are two totally different things.

anyway, thursday i had a call from trinity lane and it seems that i may finally be seeing some kind of payment for the car soon.... hopefully at long last!

he said he couldnt understand why i have not been paid out as i was fully comp, and it was then up to them to recover the costs.

and i also had a letter from my solicitors yesterday stating that the third party insurers (AXA/Zuric) are refusing to release a copy of the police report!!!

so my solicitors will be paying for a copy, and charging them for it. so that sounds like they have something to hide!!

Thats better news then Dan. One thing iv worked out with claims/solicitors is phone conversations are useless! The more done in black and white on paper with eveidence (photos/paperwork etc) will go much further to play in your favour.
