I'm sure McLaren could do it if they felt the need or, more importantly, if he has the money to spend on it!

if the cars worth a million and they can repair it for half a milion the insurance will repair it surely ? or are cars like this only insured on a 3rd party basis due to being worth so much ?

Third party?

worth Ł1,000,000 - probably not

McLaren have a who dept purely for servicing and repairing their customers cars, they deal with customers all over the world and can fix anything there was a whole issue of Evo Magazine dedicated to the F1 las year.

Big respect to Rowan, not only for driving it, but also for driving it like it was meant to be driven.
Crashing is a consequence of trying hard.

Insurance is based on market value so if as said they are "worth" about 2 million then in insurers eyes probably only worth Ł1.5 mil as a pay out for calculating the repair cost.

So even building a completely new chassis and in effect car from new isnt foing to cost more than a million considering it was (in todays inflation adjusted prices) a million pound car (includng a small profit margin).

So sure it can be rebuilt. wether there is enough in terms of damage left for it to retain its ID is another matter as it could be written off on severity of damage rather than actual cost.
