I managed to blow up a battery at work and I have never shit myself as much as I did today. The batteries on the machines are wires in parallel to provide 48 volts, and I touched a spanner between the live terminal and the chassis. Such an easy mistake to make and one that could have quite easily left me blind.

From now on when working with batteries I will be wearing goggles, something you wouldn't think about doing but just thought I would spread the word to all mechanics / maintenance engineers who deal with this sort of thing to be very careful!

ive blow loads up, i knew they were going to blow tho, wire across whick goes under the vent, twist and run lol

i ruined alot of jumpers that way

yep good bang, seatbelt pretensioners give a good bang also had 100's at my old place when they were a maindealer and there was a recall, had days of fun setting them off!
not as good as an oxy/acetalene bomb tho, i once blew a cast iron drainpipe into nowt but splinters with one of them lol

Had an airbag explode in my face while removing a steering wheel, that wasn't nice.

I've had a battery explode when I was doing a mot, went near it with the lead lamp, dunno if that had anything to do with it. Stuck my head straight under the tap in the mot bay, proper shit me pants

Bloke round our way got caught blowing up phoneboxes with oxy-acetylene pipe bombs with a nitro RC car glowplug as the fuse.
