Default boost question?

Hi all as some will know my turbo went on the focus so a call to vince at cr to discuss what i wanted and off with the turbo and he arrange collection. got it back tuesday got it fitted etc not really been out much apart from today and noticed it now only boost's to 1.3 bar?

The old turbo used to hit 2.0 bar and hold 1.8 bar now ive used the same actuator that was on the old turbo as i never sent it off with the turbo.

Anybody got any ideas as to why its lost loads of boost? ive spoke to vince earlier and he said actuator will need adjusting but surely that cant be the case? I presume its the actuator that sets the boost so the new turbo should run the boost actuator is set to previously.

Does the Autronic control the boost ? obviously not the same amount of pre load on it now.

Is it a bigger turbo mate?
Might be wrong, but if it is a bigger/more efficient turbo, than the last one the actuator was used on, then the air pressure forcing the actuator open will be greater, so more preload would be needed?

I'm sure someone will have an answer, but that's how I'm thinking of it in my head LOL

Before you adjust the actuator bare in mind the 30 will be flowing more at the same or less pressure than the 29. If your not mapped for that extra flow the motor will lunch itself in relativly swift fashion.

If ouve changed to a different turbo you'll have to adjust the actuator accordingly! Get it all setup though

^ listen to this post. Bigger turbo is going to have less restriction, therefore the same pressure as before on a larger turbo = greater volume of air = need nore fuel. It's not just a case of running it to 1.8 bar as before to run the same.
