Default Compbrake at it again!!

I am another victum of the Compbrake bandit! These guys should wear a mask, I mean really. My 6pot 350mm kit brake is a joke. I'm not sure what the problem is basically it don't fit. Spacers wrong size? Bolts too long? Holes drilled out of llne? etc etc
I'll post some pics up later.

Steer clear folks!! Pay the extra and get a decent brand.

Can anyone help me and post a pic of Compbrake kit fitted please?

I had fun and games with Compbrake with my adjustable strut top mounts, took them ages to get them right, wrong PCD, wrong bolts, wrong type, wrong size......

Got there in the end, but did they give me any discount for being the guinea pig? nope.

i used the 350mm 6 pot kit on my saff, and had various issues when fitting it,

but all i can say is they do work well when you get there, it just takes a little time and effort to fit where as maybe other kits simply bolt on.

I ended up getting brand new discs skimmed as they had massive judder out the box, but a light skim solved the issue, and i had to have a new brake pipe sorted as one hadnt been made properly, so when i braked hard for the first time, thankfully down my driveway, it burst!.

but after that it was fine.

We've got their 4pot calipers on the Gooon, no feel or bite from them at all. The Hawks pads went in the bin straight away and replaced with DS3000. The calipers are going the same way and being replaced with AP's.

The cylinders supplied for the pedal box had to be replaced as they both failed after 2 track days, I wont be bying from them again

EXACTLY same as me with calipers/pads and the master cylinders....

One locked up the other leaked - so bought some proper Girling ones from Burtons - of which the COMP/OMP ones look identical copies... ( except they dont work).

Swaped to Brembo's the car stops now!

Lol...just installed a pedal box i had from there....the only original part is the frame...I've remade the pedals, changed the cylinders to girling....Remade all the hoses and lines....reinstalled the main brake runner bearing. Re shaped the housings. Remade the brake, cluch and accelerator pedal.

I've spent at least 30hrs on it all, and spent Ł500 on bits. So in reflection....probably should of just built it myself...there stuff isn't worth the hassle. It's always half about. And he uses the cheapest nuts and bolts and other bits. I wouldn't be trusting my floating discs on those bolts.

I had unreal probs with the compbrake kit I bought, don't have time to go into every problem (there were about 10 serious issues) so my advice is strip the calumets and picture all the countersunk screws, mine weren't and scored the discs, when I enquirer I was advised that 'brembo' don't loctite anything.
Sorry if the spellings wrong, predictive txt and 5 Czech beers hic!

502's can be made to fit by putting the groove in the top of the backing pad if 504's are not available

Personally I would NEVER run anything but genuine AP/ Brembo / Alcon brakes, every other "budget" brake kit seems to be nothing but problems , at 90% of the cost for 10% of the quality.

As regards to compbrake, they are fools to themselves, as they did some nice kit, the cossie TCA & compression strut kits were pretty good, but I did get mine supplied by Tony Nuts Rs, who used to keep them in line.
