ive been offered some free FRP front shocks/springs, dont know how much better they are tho.

i also think i was running too low pressures in the tyres, was running 27psi hot and the tyres made a horrific noise on every corner lol.

tbh its only a work hack, had the 3dr not have been wrote off id have been in that lol. im not planning on any track days in the near future, but if i do ill look into suspension upgrades.

its a shame i cant make the avo monotubes off my 3dr fit as they are new

i also have some cobra suzuka bucket seats and willans harness, but again, didnt have time to get mounts made up etc...

a good seat would have deffo helped stop me falling out too

Merlins has been there years

Combe has local people trying to close it so they are strict.

to be honest most tracks are around 100db, best have an quiet exhaust then never an issue, quite easy to put more boxes in or get a packable silencer.

We got blacked flagged twice last year for 103db on drive by, we just added another box with no issue

near enough mate. i had upgraded the brakes a while back as the std ones were fucked and i had a set of st170 rfont discs lying around, so bought some mk3 mondeo callipers for £30 and new castrol srf brake fluid

i bodged on the air filter off the 3dr for the day lol, more for noise than anything else and fitted a set of yoko paradas.

i did remove the spare wheel/jack/rear seats to save a bit of weight, but tbh that lot was not that heavy lol

other than that, i just gave it a good service - oil and filter, fuel filter, plugs and that was it!

i checked the oil after the first session and wheel nut torque and swapped the tyres around at lunchtime.

thats all!

i drove it there, cained the arse off it all day, and drove it home

the good thing about being std was it was reliable! its no good having 7000bhp if it doesnt work lol

just get out and give it a bash, dont drive like a tool and check your mirrors!

thats all there is to it

we had the same issue with the seat its been to brands, snetterton and silverstone on a number of times this year always read between 98-100 but at combe this year it was 103 so we packed the exhaust a bit tighter got it to 101.6 and they let us on in the end, tested it bak at the workshop and it was 97 lol

it's amazing how much harder springs you need on circuit. would say that if your car i sjust spanner checked by a local mechanic, and your tyres are towards the top end, and you check all your fluids and have no leaks, a standard car will be far better round a track than most the modified stuff.

can't use racing puma stuff fudgy cos your hub angle is different and also a lot fatter, so they wont fi ton. Your best of buying a set of frp rear damper and springs, and buying gaz 2 ways, they are £90 each and get your own springs from faulkners. bout 275lb spring si think would be a good place to start, just got to order the right lenght....farely cheap if you buy little bits at a tiome, like platforms and stuff.

The Esses and Bobbies were added in the very late 90s IIRC - to try and bring the speeds down a bit.
