Merc 560sel,old school under 6 seconds to 60 car.usually found in brown with merc chrome hubcaps.
There's an omega estate in the for sale section here,3.2v6 that's going to be a 160mph car with little or no difference externally to a 2.0 version.
Senator 3.0 24v also springs to mind.

0-60 time is just over 7 seconds for the w126 560SEL. I sold the SEC coupe version a couple of months back, that was 0-60 in 6.8 seconds. It got a shift on for a big car, but was one for the autobahn really. It wouldn't win many races involving corners. Plus it only had those flat face alloys, not fitted with chrome hubcaps, that was the previous gen s-class

Ben
Friend of a friend has a little mitsubushi people carrier jobbie.....
Looks totally standard and un-assuming but it's got an evo 3 engine and running gear.
Can't for the life of me think of what it's called....it's about the size of the little space star mini MPV
Before anyone jumps on me saying ''out the box sleeper'' , this is how it came out the factory ! Rare as rocking horse shit aswell !

Old car of mine... Looked like a bog standard LX mondeo, but came with the 2.5V6 engine... Only paid £200 for it back in '05. Had it for a few mths, and sold on for a profit

That mondeo looks cool. What about (for its day) the mk1 transit? Pretty quick for what it was wasn't it? Maybe not enough to be considered a sleeper though.

also the 90's shape merc c230k sport... 200hp in a bland looking car
24v granada also
carlton and senator 24v's as mentioned
rover 620 turbo's are ment to be pretty good
saab 900 turbo
saab 9-3 viggen which have better midrange pull than a 911 turbo
