Converting van to car, anyone done it registering it with dvla, i have a 2007 1.6 tdci sport van and want to convert it to a car, as its basically a zetec s tdci underneath which are a little more sought after and 35quid a year tax instead of 120 (iirc) a year commerical tax

has anyone done this before? have had a look on google but cant find nowt, i do remember supplying the brackets and nuts before toa fella that done this again for a fiesta van but cant for the life of me remember what he said about registereting it! think he sad it had to go for a check at the local dvla office,

i did think about it with my st van but just put the full leather trim in and left windows as the tax was cheaper being a van

Marvin has had quite a few feestas dude that were origionally vans converted into cars and thinks there might be a case for paying tax for the pleasure.
I'd be interested to know how you get on but i think thats why so many stay vans if you have to give the robbers in the goverment a dropsy just to change the type

i have seen something on the hmrc website but didnt think it would apply as i didnt pay vat on it?

My dad did the same thing years ago to a mk 1 fiesta. He changed the side windows and fitted all the trim in the rear.
