Default Trackday cameras - Go Pro

What are people using?

Seen a few of these Go Pro units and people seem to swear by them?

After something nice and light, and want to get it in the next few days....

If anyone is after one then check into here....

http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/gopro-hd-camera.html

If you process an order, when you get to the coupon box type in

'carpromos10'

This entitles you to 10% off
(which is about Ł30 discount on a camera package)

I have a AIMsmartycam and 2 Gopro HD's (and I have the new 3d thing! but not used that yet)

Much prefer the quality of the Gopros and the new back LCD screen is very good and makes set up much easier.

Only probs with Go pro is that it doesnt like to be charged whilst filming (its supposed to have this feature... doesnt work) and it doesnt have auto start or stop. which is annoying as I forget to either start or leave it running...

Thinking of getting this http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/POV.HD.html

They say its awesome.

Would always buy from Dogsport.

really good people.

The only thing that puts me off is the warranty issue....

if you're track and techno geeks like me, get yourself a gps datalogger off ebay (search 747A+ gps logger) and software from http://www.bt747.org/

you can configure it so that it logs at 5Hz once speed has increased above 2 kmh for example and plot your route out in google maps etc or make graphs of acceleration, speed etc.

Thanks mate - I did exactly that.

Was going to order off ebay, but figured for the extra Ł30 and piece of mind of 2 year warranty it didn't matter much...

The LCD screens also make the menu system on the camera ALOT easier to use and Naviagate through.

If you dont have the screen. You WILL need to carry the instructions around!

You will need to update the firmware on the camera for the screen to work.

The download and the instructions are all available on here.
