Default My 70mm Airtec cooler "results"

Ok i dont have anything to compare this with but going by my seat of the pants dyno the car feels so much better to drive everywhere in the rev range more so high up.
Temps were as follows, cruising around low to mid 20's, flat out(and i mean flat out) held for a long while in 4th max temp seen was 38, shut of throttle and it went up to 48, as soon as the throttle was opened it instantly went down to 38 again.
Pulled off the test track and switched off to let some heat soak and the temp rose again to 36 from mid 20's, drove off and within a few hundred yrds of light throttle it was down to mid 20's again.

Will have to wait to see what power it is at till the next RR day in august.

I'm over the moon with it and as it was half the retail price (bought from member on here) makes it even better value for money.

I got the pipes direct from Radtec and had a mate cut off and weld the new ones on.

I have no idea if fitting the bigger pipes makes any differnce as i only tested the intercooler after having the bigger pipes fitted.

Sorry i thought you had them fitted due to the smaller ones restricting the flow.

you need to do more than one run, the more you push it the higher those temps will rise. the recovery of airtech is not good [been proven on a focus rs anyway] you probally no the best one to get but if you got a good deal and your happy

James, I did do two hours of driving of which most was flat out and never saw a temp above 38 degrees, I'm not silly i know which is the best but for my application the Spec R is just overkill as good as it maybe.

Just been out for lunch with wifey and the cossie, still didnt see any temps higher than 38 degrees, parked it in the resturant carpark for two hours and when i came out the secs was reading 52 degrees, started it up and within a few hundred yrds the temps came down to mid 30's and then settled to mid 20's.

Oh and Tracy+500bhp= new underwear please lol

Don't be gay it's as good as 500 and if he tests in the winter like you it will be well over

My 70mm cooler still has the original size pipe work but i will be changing for the bigger ones at some point due to t/b size so will be interesting to see if their is any difference if you change Steve.

He could do a back to back test with R4N S S as it already has the modified pipes.

Steve, great stuff,it can only be an improvement on the old pace unit.I have a pace cooler on my car,it's looking a bit sorry for itself now,I've just puchased a new cooler with 76mm pipes, hasn't been fitted to the car yet.
Glad you are happy with your improvements Steve.

Thanks.Lee.

I didn't i said they were higher more so on the rr, meaning higher on the road and rr, also i'm assuming the ecu was retarding the igniton after long bursts as it feels so much stronger /faster during prolonged thrashing.
