i see what you mean i was just saying its more cost effective to get a gt30 then to mod a t4... and would benifit alot in performance....

i think for responce the best mod that can be done is a good head... mines done by james goldstraw at grace engine developments in twyford berks and hes the nuts with yb heads..... and he even specc'ed the cams to suit the turbo ect ....

come on get with the times. gt3071 job done. or gtx3071 if you want some scope for more power with the same spool.

you've all seen cossierichs thread. even with no headwork its a cracking conversion without a hint of surge. even when loaded up in 5th gear.

come on you know it makes sence!!

Doug, a GT3071 can spool from as low-down as a T34.63 IIRC, don't quote me on that though bud, they're pretty shit hot anyway..

I'm not clued up about turbo's at all really, the same as a lot of other people but i don't think you can right off a T4 yet and especially the RB version as some may say go for a RB T4 over a GT3076.

If you want the correct answer ask your tuner

I must be one of the only people in the world that actually likes a bit of lag then a massive kick - it's what a cossie is all about imo

my gt35.... 70a/r front .82 rear makes full boost 100rpm later than my mates t34.63

although i have a fully worked head and cams ect and he has standard... both set up by mad....

the gt series turbos are the nuts.... and the new borg warners are even better... or a gtx30

Chris m8, your not alone, i really love the T4 and the kick in the arse and tbh with a ported head i'm sure it will be a completely different motor hence why i have decided thats the route i'm going down

It may allow the turbo to have it's boost curve mapped to come in earlier, as the problem can be that they surge if you try and give them too much boost early on if the engine can't consume the air that the turbo is providing. This is also why cam spec and timing is important to match this to the turbo as well.

However, don't confuse "lag" with "boost threshold" .
