I think CR are the only place that does the conversion.
I paid £1500+ i think it was for my Roller T4 3 years ago then paid more for porting to stop wastegate creep.
Pete, i could get a GT30 for the price of the conversion
Steve
Not one that will last .
The correct GT30 converted to Cossie use would cost £1500....
Be careful of the cheap ones as they WILL have the plastic bearing case, one less compressor blade and not have the correct oil / water mods - all of which would cost you to have done....

Mike, the price i was quoted wasn't far from the price you have given above

That is because it is very labour intensive to convert a T4 to a roller-bearing core. You'd be better off selling your T4 and buying the aforementioned GT30 (but DON'T buy the cheap one, or you will be no better off in response and worse off in reliability.....).
Will be sticking with what i have for now, no way can i justify the price for a ball bearing conversion and don't want to spend out on a new turbo, as i have said I can improve the response by making the engine better to suit the T4.
i recon it will be cheaper to get an internaly gated gt3076 conversion kit.... aet turbos and universal turbos done them kits for around £1300 all in.... might have gone up slightly....
then your t4 must be worth £600+ sounds like a cheap conversion mate.... and if you have headwork it will be rapid..... and have loads of low down power....
its worth asking dave moss if hes sold his gt30 (its dave) on here
i dont think the gains are worth the cost if your turbo is ok anyway, my engine has seemed to gain around 100 rpm, 20 lbft and 10 hp in lower revs from journal to bb same turbo, cam timing hasnt been optimised this time so may gain another 100 rpm but still not much considering the costs involved imo.

but from a t4 to a gt30 theres a big difference... as my mates t4 8inj 3dr makes full boost by 4400rpm and my gt35 4inj set up makes full boost around 3500rpm and considering my turbo can flow 600bhp+ on the right engine and a t4 cant touch it
so a gt30 would be abit better, so thats abig difference, and if you can sell the old turbo for £700 then its pretty cost effective if you ask me

i totally agree but the op is talking about going from journal to bb on a t4 lol
